Applications Engineer General
Hourly pay rate: $42.30/hour
Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid - 4 days onsite, Monday through Thursday)
Long-term ongoing contract
Job Responsibilities
- Guide supplier partners through the Global Product Development System (GPDS), including requirement signoff
- Support driver assist feature development and integration
- Deliver software work packages through the software change management process, including release documentation, functional validation, and OTA software updates
- Support cross-module network communication implementation (e.g., OTA, CS, CMA, E2E, PARSED)
- Investigate Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) issues, including Quality Early Detection (QED)
- Support service manual development and diagnostics specification release
- Assist Breadboard and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing, including issue resolution and software updates
- Support prototype vehicle builds, including software flashing and root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with Central Software requirements (ASPICE)
- Lead Software Technical Design Reviews (TDRs)
- Support assembly plant End-of-Line (EOL) setup and issue resolution
- Participate in Agile software development processes
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- 2+ years of experience in design or development within chassis or powertrain controls
- Experience with requirements management and supplier collaboration
- Familiarity with FMEA and quality assurance processes
- Knowledge of vehicle network communication (e.g., CAN)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new tools and resolve vehicle issues
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Motivation to bring new technologies from concept to production
- Familiarity with digital and analog data acquisition systems
- Experience with system analysis tools and methodologies
- Exposure to controls modeling tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, or SysML
