Software Testing Engineer

Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Software Test Engineer (Ottawa, Ontario). Hourly pay range $ 35.00- $37.86
7.5 month contract, potential for extension

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be part of the Test Automation & Tools Development team, involved in delivering software solutions that enable automated testing of the latest automotive infotainment and connectivity technologies. You will develop and maintain automated test scripts, a test framework, and test tools. Interface with development and test teams to understand testing requirements, and implement required test tools and test scripts

• Develop and maintain test libraries that interface with the target under test
• Develop and maintain software tools and features to assist in automated testing
• Develop and maintain test libraries that interface with the test management system and the defect tracking system
• Contribute to team deliverables through involvement in agile scrum development sprints

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree
• 3+ years of experience in Python development
• Experience with automated testing environment and frameworks (ie, Slash)
• Experience with continuous integration system (Jenkins)
• Analytical with the ability to produce creative and effective software solutions to problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with REST APIs, and interfacing with Test Case management system (ie: TestRail) and Defect Tracking system (ie: JIRA)
• Experience with database (SQL)
• Ability to work in a multi-site team environment where self-driven and self-motivated capabilities are key qualities
