Battery Structural CAE Engineer - ABAQUS

Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid - 4 days onsite, Monday-Thursday)
Pay Rate: $42.31/hr
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Benefits: 2 Weeks PTO + 11 Paid Holidays

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Battery Structural CAE Engineer to lead structural analysis of high-voltage battery systems using advanced CAE tools. This role supports cutting-edge electrified powertrain development, ensuring battery systems operate reliably within defined structural and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build 3D structural CAE models for battery components from CAD data
- Perform nonlinear finite element simulations using ABAQUS
- Debug complex FE models independently
- Evaluate simulation results and provide design guidance
- Correlate CAE models with physical test data
- Coordinate with global CAE teams for meshing and cleanup
- Deliver structured technical reports with recommendations

Core Tools:
- ABAQUS (required)
- HyperMesh
- nCode / fe-safe

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- 4+ years of structural CAE experience
- 3+ years of ABAQUS nonlinear FEA experience
- Strong experience with HyperMesh and fatigue tools

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Advanced nonlinear FEA knowledge
- Experience with CAE correlation and testing
- Python scripting in ABAQUS

Eligible Backgrounds:
- Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Industrial Equipment

Candidate Profile:
- Strong ABAQUS + HyperMesh expertise
- Ability to hit the ground running
- Experience correlating simulation with testing
