Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Body Component Engineer (Windsor, Ontario). Hourly Pay: $38.00 - $40.00

RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and production release of Body components. Other responsibilities will include quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives including communicating technical product status to management.
The Exterior Lighting Engineer is responsible for packaging requirements, lighting performance, lighting system behavior/validation of the vehicle's headlamps, fog lamps, tail lamps, CHMSL (center stop light), license plate lamps, side marker lamps, cargo and bed lamps

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
  • 3 years of engineering experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of halogen and LED technology
  • Demonstrable knowledge of thermal management, optical evaluations, finite element analysis, and electronics
  • Track record of strong leadership
  • Must be self-directed
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required to support design/development process
  • Knowledge lamp technologies, design practices and regulatory compliance specifications


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
  • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma process and/or Green Belt certification
  • Knowledge of reactive problem solving and/or Green Belt certification
  • Trained in DVP&R and DFMEA
  • Knowledge of process standards, advanced LED and Laser technology
  • Automotive lighting experience and broad vehicle knowledge
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management
  • Hands-on vehicle experience
  • Experience managing suppliers and/or other team members
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good organizational skills, self-directed and self-motivated, ability to meet deadlines and ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Detailed oriented, team player, flexible and ability to prioritize
  • Working knowledge of NX/Teamcenter
