Hourly pay range $ 23.50-25.50/hour
Located in Montreal, QC
Hours Monday to Friday and ability to work on weekends
About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused Senior Claims Specialist to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex claims while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills to drive fair, timely resolutions while mitigating risk and fraud.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investigate and resolve complex, high-value claims from initial review through final resolution.
- Verify facts, assess evidence, and make claim decisions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Identify fraud risks and take appropriate action to protect customers and business.
- Deliver exceptional support through phone, email, and messaging channels.
- Educate customers on coverage, policies, and claims processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party partners to ensure timely claim resolutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular case updates.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and customer experience.
- Share best practices and support team success.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in customer experience, fintech, insurance, or a related field.
- 1+ year of insurance or claims handling experience.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing complex customer interactions with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience balancing fraud prevention with positive customer outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with property damage, travel, or liability claims.
- Demonstrated ability to provide premium, customer-centric service.
- Growth mindset with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, fairness, and empathy.
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week). May require weekends and holidays based on business needs.
