Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Pontiac, MI
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations and support business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, employee engagement, and customer responsiveness. This role is responsible for supervising warehouse personnel, managing workflow, promoting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor agreements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, and the ability to motivate teams while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support warehouse employees to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Coach, counsel, and develop team members while addressing employee concerns and performance issues.
- Recognize and reinforce positive performance behaviors and address performance deficiencies when necessary.
- Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) principles to improve warehouse layouts, workflow, and efficiency.
- Maintain and update Timekeeping Systems (TKS) to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Utilize A3 reporting methods to document and communicate problem-solving activities.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate business performance and operational priorities.
- Perform and document weekly safety observation tours and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Plan and coordinate daily workloads to meet operational requirements.
- Collaborate with peers and leadership to optimize shift performance and achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with national and local labor agreements, company policies, and shop rules.
- Conduct routine SOP audits to maintain process consistency and quality standards.
- Participate in Individual Development Plan (IDP) activities to enhance leadership and technical skills.
- Communicate departmental activities, concerns, and progress to leadership teams and committees.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional technical training, skilled trades training, business school coursework, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or operations experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, manufacturing processes, and inventory management.
- Experience with workforce scheduling and management systems.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Solid mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management technologies.
