Pay Rate: $36.66/hr
Work Status: Fully Onsite
Position Description:
This PVT Engineer role is located at the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant (KCAP), where the F-150 and Transit vehicle lines are built. PVT Engineers serve as the first line of defense for functional system quality on vehicles built at the assembly plant. In this role, you will support ongoing product development and improve the quality of the F-150/Transit as it relates to electrical systems - including electrical distribution, electronic switches, 12V batteries, module software/hardware, and sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver vehicle line quality objectives
- Manage warranty issue tracking and resolution
- Identify opportunities for high-impact warranty improvement actions
- Evaluate external issues and drive changes to internal measurement systems and/or containment actions
- Lead/support and coordinate issue containment and resolution across Product Development, Supplier, and Production teams
- Lead/support launch events (part sign-off, issue resolution, electrical testing)
- Lead production trials
- Assist in troubleshooting and repair of units
Required Skills:
- Critical Thinking - proven experience weighing diverse and/or competing goals to achieve the best outcome for the company and product
- Problem Solving - experience using Six Sigma tools, 8Ds, 5-Whys, or similar techniques to identify root cause, implement containment actions, and prevent recurrence
Preferred Skills:
- Jira
Required Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
- 2+ years' experience as a Product/Quality Engineer in an Electrical/Software environment
Preferred Experience:
- Master of Science in Electrical/Software Engineering or closely related field
- 3+ years' experience as a Product/Quality Engineer in an Electrical/Software environment
- Automotive industry experience
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Six Sigma training
- Experience with GSAR, JIRA, IRIS, SIMPSN, QED, SREA, and WERS
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with others, particularly in an assembly plant environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with vehicle OBD systems and CAN networking in-vehicle
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
