Position Overview
The Process Validation & Improvement team is a highly specialized organization responsible for identifying supplier overpayments, performing root cause analysis, and driving end-to-end process improvements that mitigate risk across GM Global Purchasing contracts.
The team works proactively with Global Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Technical Accounting, and other key stakeholders to identify pricing discrepancies, recover supplier overpayments, and ensure contracts accurately reflect negotiated pricing. Through detailed contract analysis and collaboration, the PVI team helps improve contract pricing accuracy and strengthen purchasing controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze supplier contracts and related financial data to identify pricing errors, overpayments, and recovery opportunities.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine the source of contract and pricing discrepancies.
- Review contract reports and audit findings to identify cost savings opportunities.
- Deliver clear, accurate, and high-quality audit results to Purchasing and other stakeholders.
- Partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to review findings and determine recovery strategies.
- Support Purchasing during supplier negotiations related to pricing discrepancies and recovery efforts.
- Drive timely resolution of open audits, recovery cases, and overpayment collections.
- Utilize GM global systems and reporting tools to investigate pricing issues and validate contract accuracy.
- Analyze ad hoc reports and perform special studies as requested by GPSC, GBS, or leadership teams.
- Track and achieve key performance metrics, including:
- Contract touch rate
- Study aging
- Cost recovery targets
- Case closure timelines
- Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to enhance contract pricing accuracy and reduce future risk.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience reviewing contracts, financial data, and pricing information.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple organisational levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with financial analysis, audit, compliance, or cost recovery activities preferred.
