Production Supervisor

Position Summary


We are seeking a proactive, results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee operations within our High Cube Center (HCC). Reporting directly to the Superintendent and Plant Manager, this position is responsible for managing the end-to-end flow of materials and providing direct supervision, leadership, and development for team members, including mentoring GSR 6 Supervisors.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively navigate labor relations in a unionized setting, and is committed to driving operational excellence through data-driven decision-making. This role plays a critical part in maintaining workplace safety, organizational cleanliness, and customer satisfaction while ensuring dealer shipping deadlines are consistently met or exceeded.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production and material flow operations within the High Cube Center.
  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop team members, including GSR 6 Supervisors.
  • Drive operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize data and operational metrics to support decision-making and improve efficiencies.
  • Foster a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
  • Maintain high standards of facility safety and workplace cleanliness.
  • Ensure dealer shipping deadlines are consistently met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Effectively manage labor relations and employee concerns within a unionized environment.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Monitor staffing levels and coordinate overtime and shift coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Labor Relations Experience

  • Previous supervisory experience in a UAW or other unionized environment preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, SAP and EWM systems.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish expectations, drive accountability, and lead teams effectively.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, evaluate situations, and make sound decisions independently.

Professional Attributes

  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven track record of reliability, initiative, and dependability.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.

Schedule Requirements

  • Must be flexible to work outside traditional business hours.
  • Current operations run from 6:00 AM to 1:30 AM.
  • Availability for weekends and overtime as business needs dictate.

Performance Expectations

  • Ability to meet strict dealer shipping deadlines while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

  • Team-oriented leader with a desire to develop and advance within the organization.
  • Experience managing conflict, employee relations, and performance issues.
  • Prior leadership experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments is highly desirable.
