Warehouse Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead warehouse operations and support business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. This role is responsible for overseeing hourly employees, coordinating daily workloads, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company policies and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, manufacturing experience, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support hourly warehouse employees while fostering a positive work environment.
- Coach, counsel, and develop team members to improve performance and engagement.
- Recognize positive performance and address behaviors that do not meet expectations.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives utilizing Quality Network and A3 methodologies.
- Implement Workplace Organization (WPO) processes to improve efficiency and workflow.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records and ensure timely payroll processing.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate business updates, goals, and performance metrics.
- Perform and document weekly safety observations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Plan and coordinate daily staffing and workload requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and supervisors to optimize shift performance.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, shop rules, and collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
- Conduct daily Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) audits and follow-up actions.
- Participate in continuous learning and development through Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Communicate ongoing operational activities and concerns to management as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, skilled trades training, or equivalent business/technical education preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or operations experience.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse processes.
- Experience with workforce scheduling, labor management, and timekeeping systems.
- Understanding of quality control standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Workplace Organization (WPO), and A3 problem-solving tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse compliance standards.
- Experience leading employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
