Contract with potential for long term
Hourly pay range: $40.00 - $42.00

Must be able to work shift work
Day shift 6:30am-2:30pm
Night shift 2:30pm-10:30pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main function of a controls engineer in an operating manufacturing environment is to support the safe and reliable operation of plant process equipment. A controls engineer will support equipment malfunction and breakdown troubleshooting, complete improvement and upgrade projects and maintain working documentation/drawings.

• Engineer and design electrical wiring diagrams.
• Design/troubleshoot electrical control panels.
• Design/troubleshoot programmable logic controller software.
• Design programmable human machine interface (HMI) software.
• Tryout, debug and provide start-up support for control systems.
• Provide technical support for installation of tools and equipment.
• Provide technical support for training of plant personnel.
• This is a position based out of Oshawa ON, with daily onsite requirements
  

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma in a technical field or trades certification with applicable experience.
• 2-4 years of experience required.
• Ability to troubleshoot using RS logix 5000
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware in the field
• Proficient with application of programmable machine controls hardware and software. (Allan Bradley, Siemens)
• Proficient with application of Servo drive hardware and software.
• Proficient with AutoCad and/or Eplan
• Familiarity with basic electrical standards.
• Familiarity with basic safety standards.
• Capable of supervision.
