Compensation: $48-$53/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's engineering team in Greenville, SC. In this high-impact role, you will lead the design and development of custom automated machinery projects for a wide range of manufacturing industries. You'll manage projects from conceptualization through build, debug, and on-site commissioning, working both independently and as a technical mentor within a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of complex automated machinery and custom equipment
- Manage mechanical engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
- Apply standard techniques, procedures, and methods to ensure quality and timeliness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with peers and project stakeholders
- Participate in engineering reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Serve as a client-facing representative during project phases
- Develop and present technical solutions to internal and external teams
- Mentor and coach developing engineers within the department
- Identify and implement workflow improvements to promote efficiency and safety
- Exercise sound independent judgment in decision-making
- Influence design maturation and project outcomes
- Travel up to 5-10%, including potential overnight and international trips
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or associate's degree with significant experience (ABET/EAC accredited program)
- 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- Skilled in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
- Proficient in both standard and advanced mechanical engineering principles and practices
- FE Exam or EIT certification preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and review work of others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and oversee complex engineering challenges
- Willingness to support project needs, sometimes requiring travel
