Mechanical Engineer
The company is seeking a talented, self-motivated Senior level Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of custom automated machinery projects for a diverse range of manufacturing industries and clients. A viable candidate will have the ability to manage the mechanical engineering responsibilities and deliverables of a project from the conceptual phase through final design, build, debug, and commissioning at our client's facilities. This would be in the life science vertical.
How You Will Make an Impact:
* Develop deeper knowledge and skills in the various areas of complex machine design
* Evaluate, select, and apply standard JR techniques, procedures, and methods to perform necessary functions in the pursuit of on-time and on- budget engineering deliverables
* Work collaboratively with peers and other departmental co-workers to advance the objectives of a project's contractual requirements
* Participate in the engineering review process of team member's technical output
* Influence team members in the development of design maturation
* Possess good oral and written communication skills in order to represent JR Automation in a professional manner
* Be client facing in the presentation of design development throughout the engineering phase of a project
* Work with minimal supervision and exercise sound independent judgment in decision making
* Seeks to challenge the status quo with ideas and initiatives that promote efficiency, safety, and overall workflow improvements
What You Will Bring:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline, or an associate's degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC)
* 5+ years' work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
* Experienced with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
* FE Exam or EIT is desirable, but not mandatory
* Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures
* Has sufficient knowledge to supervise others
* Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems
* Rely on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks
* Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work
* Viewed as a technical specialist in the department
* May serve as a mentor/coach for developing engineers
* Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
* Travel required up to 5-10% including overnight and international
