Contract 12 months
Hourly pay range: $42.00 - 44.00

Rotating Shifts
* 1st Shift (Days): 6:30 AM - 2:45 PM
* 2nd Shift (Afternoons): 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM
* 3rd Shift (Nights): 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM
Scheduled Saturdays: Employees are expected to work most Saturdays, with the exception of long holiday weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support engineering activities within the paint shop across multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Initially focus on base coat and clear coat spray applications, with comprehensive training provided.
  • Work closely with a team of six engineers and technicians, supporting current team members while helping accommodate future team growth.
  • Monitor and address quality concerns by analyzing data and adjusting paint shop process parameters as needed.
  • Collaborate across shifts and departments to ensure efficient production and process performance.
  • Assist during planned shutdowns and maintenance periods as needed, although some shutdown periods may be scheduled time off
  • Serve in a support role, taking direction from multiple stakeholders while balancing competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, particularly during off-shift hours when direct supervision may be limited.
  • Be a self-starter who can proactively identify opportunities for improvement and remain productive with minimal oversight.
  • Support process control and continuous improvement initiatives, helping ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Propose and evaluate manufacturing process and equipment for assigned areas.
  • Meet plant goals and standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Coordinate the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives.
  • Evaluate expenditures for processes and/or equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations.
  • Works closely with production and maintenance personnel and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Analyze tooling and equipment and select proper steps for solution.
  • Communicate with internal and external business units.
  • Support plants in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals.
  • Support and implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential for identifying issues, evaluating root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Basic knowledge of tooling processes.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive industry processes.
  • Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool.
  • Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills.
