RESPONSIBILITIES
Our client is seeking an experienced Automotive Embedded Software Developer to support the development of next-generation embedded platforms, including infotainment, connectivity, and other hardware modules. This role will focus on Board Support Package (BSP) development, secure bootloader implementation, board bring-up activities, low-level driver development, and embedded operating system integration.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded Linux/QNX environments, low-level C programming, hardware-software integration, and advanced debugging techniques.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) for embedded Linux and/or QNX platforms.
- Design, implement, and support secure bootloaders and system startup software.
- Perform board bring-up activities for new hardware platforms and support hardware validation.
- Develop and debug low-level device drivers for UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and CAN FD interfaces.
- Configure and optimize Linux kernel components, memory mapping, file systems, and device trees.
- Analyze hardware schematics and collaborate with hardware engineers to troubleshoot system issues.
- Utilize JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other debugging tools to diagnose hardware and software problems.
- Support integration and performance optimization of embedded software platforms.
- Work with eMMC, NAND, and NOR flash memory devices and controllers.
- Participate in code reviews, software integration, testing, and validation activities.
- Maintain software configuration using version control tools such as Git and SVN.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality embedded solutions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- 4+ years of experience developing BSPs and bootloaders for Linux and/or QNX platforms.
- Strong proficiency in C programming with extensive low-level development and debugging experience.
- Experience with assembly language programming and debugging.
- Proven experience completing at least two board bring-up projects.
- Strong understanding of embedded operating systems, including Linux and/or QNX.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
- Hands-on experience with JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Experience developing device drivers for:
- UART
- I2C
- SPI
- CAN/CAN FD
- Detailed knowledge of ARM processors, including A-Series and M-Series architectures.
- Experience working with eMMC storage devices.
- Experience with NAND and NOR flash memory controllers.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git and SVN.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
