Grid EMS/DMS Systems Engineer

• Extensive experience with General Electric Grid EMS/DMS systems. (Hands-on working knowledge of GE products including e-terrahabitat, e-terracontrol, e-terracomm, e-terrasource, e-terratransmission, e-terraarchive. )
• Extensive experience with RTUC/Look-a-head, RTNET, STNET, RMTNET & SMTNET.
• Maintains and exercises in depth knowledge of EMS advanced software applications (State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Network)
• Hands-on working experience with scripting tools to update HABITAT databases.
• Working knowledge of networking protocols TCP/IP, UDP, DNP 3.0, ICCP, and ISD.
• Hands-on working experience with scripting tools (PERL, Python, JAVA, PowerShell, VBScript, etc).
• Broad experience with Electric Transmission systems, including NERC transmission reliability standards (BA, TOP, etc.).
• Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of complex EMS problems with the ability to visualize long-term results and assess impacts on a system-wide basis.
• Bachelor of Science degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 8 years of related business experience.
• Able to pass NERC background check
• Demonstrated ability to form and maintain positive working relationships with teammates, peers and clients and to coordinate between team members, business units, support groups, corporate areas, and vendors to ensure appropriate communication and problem resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, execute, and monitor work activities with little direct supervision.
