Direct Hire
2nd shift- 3pm-11:30pm
Hourly pay range $ 41.20 - ($0.75/hr shift premium, COLA $0.32/hr).
Location: Guelph, ON
Responsibilities
- We are looking for a Millwright to add value to our Skilled Trades Maintenance team. This is a permanent on-site position working the Afternoon shift and supporting a two-shift operation. This successful candidate will be responsible for
- Working with cross-functional Engineering and Maintenance teams to increase efficiency, production quality, and output
- Following and complying with safety and environmental procedures
- Completing assigned Preventive Maintenance as per scheduled requirements
- Problem-solving skills and initiative to keep machine down-time to a minimum
- Working with priorities set by the supervisor, often with minimal supervision
- Correcting and/or reporting unsafe work conditions as appropriate
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and ensure required inspections are completed correctly and on time.
- Machinery installation, assembly, maintenance, service, repair, and overhaul
- Excellent working knowledge of blueprints, drawings, and specifications manuals
- Fabricating machine parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up
- Start-up and testing, shut down operations, renovating and restoring, rigging and handling
- Troubleshooting of computer-controlled equipment and application of resolution
- Stainless steel welding, Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)
- Application of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) techniques
- Working with conveyors, shop compressors, pumps, hoists, and other lifting devices
- Operate grinders, welding equipment, gas and air dryers, heat exchangers, automated and robotics systems, electrical and electronic controls, lathes and other machining tools, fans and blowers, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems as required
- Working with power transmission systems, press brakes, and metalworking equipment
- Detection of irregularities and malfunctions, constructing foundations for machinery
- Installing and adjusting machinery and equipment safely
- Continuously learning and adapting to changing and new equipment maintenance skills as required
- Providing training and mentoring to apprentices & others as required
Basic Qualifications
- Trade Certification: A valid Industrial Mechanic / Millwright trade certificate for the province of Ontario (433A) is required
- At least 3 years related experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably automotive
- Strong mechanical and assembly skills, with the ability to troubleshoot
- Hands-on instrumentation troubleshooting an asset
- Experience with hydraulic systems is a definite asset
- Knowledge of basic electrical theory an asset
- Basic software knowledge required
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (Verbal/Written)
- Good interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills required
- Additional information:
- Working straight afternoon hour shifts (8.5 hrs.), with the requirement for mandated weekend work in support of production needs, as required
- This position would be for the Afternoon shift and in the event of opening up a third shift there is a possibility of moving to the night shift (based on seniority).
