Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Tool Designer (Machining/sheet metal/tool design) will include:

• Compensation (Range): 30-45/ hour: Salary:
• Location: Waterloo, IA | Contract Duration: 3 Years with Potential Extension
• $40-45/hour: Candidates with over 5 years of relevant experience
• $34-40/hour: Candidates with 2-5 years of relevant experience
• $30-34/hour: Entry-level candidates, including recent graduates
• First Shift: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Expected Overtime: Approximately 10-15 hours per week
• Oversee the Tool Design process for assigned projects, including initial concept development, detailed modeling, and obtaining final design approvals.
• Prepare detailed drawings based on CAD geometry optimized for manufacturing purposes.
• Collaborate with Tool Makers and other stakeholders during fit/function evaluations and troubleshooting phases.
• Develop and deliver finalized "As Built" prints and ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prioritize and adjust work orders as directed by stakeholders.
• Incorporate requested design modifications during project phases.
• Perform tasks onsite utilizing tools such as Creo, Smart Assembly, PDM Link, UGS TeamCenter, AutoCAD, and Ansys.
• Log electronic time entries and work order updates through SAP systems.
• Facilitate secure data transfers using FileZilla or other approved methods.

Job Requirements

• Proficiency in Creo or equivalent solid modeling tools.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fabrication methodologies.
• An educational background in engineering or related fields.
• Preferred Skills:
• Experience in programming languages including C++, Python, or SQL.
• Expertise in project management practices.
• Familiarity with supply management or procurement processes.
• Additional Information
• Candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Tool Design are strongly preferred.
• Recent graduates must possess relevant internship experience and demonstrate proficiency in Creo or other solid modeling software.
• Candidates are required to attend onsite interviews in Waterloo at their own expense.
• This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
• A business casual dress code applies, with metatarsal boots mandatory on the first day of employment.
• The position will commence onsite immediately. Candidates may be required to operate personal vehicles for travel to other Waterloo locations and, upon completing safety training, operate factory equipment such as Gators.
